1. What Masjid is — and is not
Masjid is a directory and transparency tool. It lets mosque caretakers publish information about their mosque's finances and lets residents view that information and find account details for giving directly.
Masjid does not collect, hold, transfer, or guarantee any funds. All donations happen outside the app, directly between you and the account holder. We take no fees and no cut.
2. No guarantee of use of funds
We verify each masjid by phoning its caretaker before it becomes visible, and we investigate reports. However, all financial figures are reported by the masjid's caretaker. We cannot and do not guarantee the accuracy of published figures or how any donation is ultimately used. Donate at your own judgement.
3. Your account
- You must provide accurate information at registration.
- Keep your password safe; you are responsible for activity on your account.
- One caretaker account may manage one masjid.
- You may delete your account at any time (in-app or via the web deletion page).
4. Caretaker responsibilities
- You confirm you are genuinely responsible for the masjid you register and authorised to publish its information.
- Published account details must belong to the masjid or to the staff member shown next to them.
- Keep figures reasonably current, and confirm donation records honestly against your actual bank credits.
5. Prohibited conduct
Registering fake or impersonated mosques, publishing accounts you do not control, submitting false donation records, harassment, and any unlawful use. Violations lead to suspension or removal, and where appropriate, reports to authorities.
6. Moderation
Every masjid is reviewed before becoming visible. We may suspend or remove any masjid or account that we reasonably believe violates these terms, at any time. Users can report any masjid page in-app; reports are reviewed by our team.
7. Liability
The service is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses arising from donations made to accounts listed in the app, from caretaker-reported information, or from service interruptions.
8. Changes
We may update these terms; the current version always lives at this URL. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
